Synopsis
I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York.
The food, champagne, and service were impeccable.
The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better.
He was suave and intelligent.
We talked and laughed, and something clicked.
Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night.
With no plans, we made our own.
We danced and laughed our way around Boston and had a night of crazy passion that no woman would ever forget.
That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him—until today.
I started a new job and met the CEO.
You can imagine my surprise to see those naughty blue eyes dance with delight when he saw me across the mahogany desk.
But I’m not that carefree girl anymore.
My life has changed, I have responsibilities.
I just got an email.
He wants to see me in his office for a private meeting at 8:00 a.m.
Naughty blue eyes have no place in the workplace.
What kind of private meeting does he have in mind?
Review
Omg, I think I love T.L Swan.
T.L Swan generally writes novel tropes that I'm not into, like age gapes and overly dominant fuckers and a bunch of weird-ass sex. But this book, I actually love. This book was actually how I discovered T.L Swan, and it has been on amazon's list for months. I always read fantasy, and I don't really read contemporary because it never holds my interest long enough for me to actually finish the fucking book. However, this book was a huge exception. It was just that good, and its actually such a compliment for me to say that.
Emily Foster, a mid-twenty attractive brunet got upgraded to first-class on an airplane after the flight attendants saw that some fucker threw around her suitcase. Her seat was beside some hot as hell guy. He was charming and charismatic and very attractive. Emily is such a snarky character, I love her so much. They began to talk more, and connect, and they started becoming very comfortable with each other. So comfortable, there was some sexual tension. Overindulged in drinks and a stopover flight, they walked and kissed through Boston. They had sex. And he left....without asking for her number.
One year later.
Emily's reason for the flight a year ago to New York was a job working for the newspaper company. She got hired, and she finds that the guy that she met on the airplane....drumroll.....is the CEO of the company, Jameson Miles. I just love when authors write characters with such nice names. Like Jameson, Tristan, Emily, and bunch more.
However, Emily has a boyfriend back home, and he's like a pathetic loser with no ambition btw, and she doesn't want to be a cheater. But here's the thing, the guy she met on the plane, is literally nothing like her CEO. The guy on the plane was kind and charming and overall sexy. The CEO is such a broody and moody asshole with temperamental problems.
The story goes on and they try to have a relationship, and they have so many fights and fucks, that I actually love so much. The reason why I lose interest so easily in contemporary is that the sexual tension at the beginning of novels is so hot and heavy, but then around the middle, its like life has been sucked out of the couple. However, this book is so fucking interesting. The sexual tension is through and through the entire book. I LOVE!
The characters are my absolute favourite. Emily Foster is a snarky, feisty, brilliant, independent, and a complete badass. She's literally had all my favourite traits in a heroine. Jameson Miles is an asshole, rude, and very snarky as well. But I love him. And those are also traits I love in male characters.
Well. This might be the longest review I've written without a bunch of fucks and shits and bitches.
Read the book!!!
If you are into romance contemporary with characters born with snark and love, I highly recommend this book!!
