Synopsis
Lucifer is no longer the only angel to fall...not after what I just did.
All angels are offered a choice: attend the Celestial Academy or be cast out of Heaven. Until two hours ago, only one angel since the beginning of time has ever made the choice to leave. Today, I made those two.
No one warns you where you go after the fall. If I'd known, I can't help but wonder if I'd still have made the same choice.
It turns out there another Academy, and in order to earn the right to free will on Earth, I'm going to have to make it through an entirely different set of trials.
I traded angels for demons, among other things, and it's obvious I am not one of them. Here, in the midst of the very worst Hell has to offer, I stand out like a light in the dark...and that isn't a good thing. In just a few short hours, I've already drawn the unwanted attention of several of the more devilishly-handsome (is that a compliment here?) brutes...and they've made it abundantly clear that they don't want me to stay.
If I want a chance at life on Earth, I need to graduate...but first, I'll have to survive the Demigod Trifecta.
My name is Eden, and today is my first day at Hellfire Academy.
Today, I become one of The Fallen.
Review
This book...is horrible, like fucking disgusting.
Like I'm not going to lie, I was intrigued in the beginning when Eden has been cast out of heaven and has landed on Earth, more specifically Hellfire Academy. However, the whole plotline was just going nowhere. It was just predictable, Eden capturing the attention of the three guys who turn out to be sadistic assholes, who are so fucking paranoid about some good-hearted girl that they think she's a spy.
There was this one scene where Thorne had miserably failed to levitate Eden, he literally went up to her and fucking slaps her so hard she falls on the ground. And what does the teacher do? Tells Kate to take Eden to the infirmary...and that's fucking it like you just saw one of your students harass another student. After that, there was this class of torture or whatever, and Eden got paired with Rhys. The messed up assignment given was to practice torturing your partner, and literally, the text stated that the room was echoed with the screams of others. So Eden hits him with a leather crop and Rhys breaks free of the leather, kisses her, and then hurls her to the ground and leaves. And what does that teacher do? Stands there watching them, and after Rhys left, goes to her to inform her that it was fucking impressive that she got a rise out of him. Like what the fuck! And then sometimes during the book, Kate finds out Eden's an angel. Kate then begins to act like a self-conscious, idiot person and moves out of their room. While Kate speaks to her mom on the phone, Nyx overhears this and blackmails her. Oh, stay away from the Trifecta whatever demigods and I'll keep your secret. Like bitch, shut the fuck up.
During their exams, Eden just so coincidentally gets paired up with the sadistic three, and Nyx becomes furious. Okay and then get this, Nyx gets mad and pushes Eden backward towards the ground. And then, her wings pop out. First of all, I'm not sure if its instinct of anything, but it's like a metre fall and you decided to pop out your wings? Does she not have a sense of self-preservation?
OKAY, SO THIS IS THE MOST FUCKED UP PART. After the sadistic three sees Eden's wings, Rhys hangs her up to her throat, while the other two begin to rip her wings off of her. And then....the end. That's literally it! Like I can respect a cliffhanger if it seems reasonable, but seriously, the book ends literally when Eden's demise is so fucking obvious? Oh and guess what? The teacher that was overseeing their exams? Yeah, that teacher just stood there, watching while the three assholes attack an innocent student.
Anyway, I guess this technically isn't a review, but thanks for reading my rant and my apologies for the cussing.
But yeah. If you want to read a fucked up book in an unknown series, then you have something seriously wrong with you. But no judgement, want to read the book? Click the link above to be whisked away to the world of hell.
